I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I kind of have a unique view on the whole blogging phenomenon that's swept the web in recent years. You might look at this page and say yeah, ok ... it's just another blog, but I actually started posting my journal online back in 2000 when I was still in high school and at that time I'd never even heard the word "blog." My journal was easily the most popular part of my little web site. And by popular I mean it was the only page I updated. For that reason, I eventually condensed the site into just the journal itself. The first time I heard anyone talk about a blog was when I saw a story on TechTV by Leo Laporte talking about the site blogger.come which was making online publishing easier and allowing people write stuff and publish it online in the form of a "web log" or simply "blog." At this time, my simple 1-page layout was getting fairly long and taking a long time for the average internet connection to load and so I checked out blogger.com and found it to be a very cool solution to my problem.
I kinda side-tracked there, but my point is I don't really consider myself a blogger. Ok, I use blogger.com tools, and by definition my site is a blog - but I think the main difference is I don't go around reading other people's blogs and advertising mine. My blog is here for me to vent and bitch and moan and boast and celebrate whatever I'm going through at the time. If i ever want to write a book about my life, a lot will be taken from this site. There's a lot of times where I just need to let things out, and I don't want to impose on, or be a burden to, my family or friends by making them listen to a bunch of crap that they might not give a shit about. On the other hand, if you're reading this then apparently you do give a shit... or mybe you're at just bored or curious enough to read it anyway.
To the person who commented on the last post, I'm glad you like the site re-design. I like it too. I'm glad I can actually have people post comments now. It's kinda cool. I think if I get comments, it might remind me that people are actually reading this crap and motivate me to share more often.
